SCOUTS VOLUNTEERING AWARD
KENT SCOUTS AIM TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF YOUNG PEOPLE TAKING PART IN VOLUNTEERING.
WHAT IS VOLUNTEERING?
There are many benefits for scouts who get involved in volunteering, these include learning new skills, building self confidence, making friends and having fun. To promote these benefits we have introduced Kent Scouts Volunteering Awards.
Volunteering can be anything that involves giving up your time for other people without financial reward, ideas could Include:
- Helping out at beavers and cubs
- Helping at a community event
- Fundraising for your troop
- Help at a residential home
- Jobs for local neighbours
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT AWARD LEVELS
You can gain the following Kent Scouts Volunteering Award level which are based upon the number of hours you complete: -
Bronze 25
Platinum 500
Diamond 250
Gold 100
Silver 50

WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS?
1. What are you waiting for, speak to your leaders
or your parents and organise your project.
2. Remember each project will need to be authorised by your
scout leader (we don't want you doing anything dangerous)
3. Once you have completed the number of hours you gain an award.
Send your log sheet to the county office so we can arrange for
you to receive your Badge and Certificate.
4. Continue to log your hours up to the next level.
